Social Events and Fundraisers
Bake Sales
Each month two classes host a joint bake sale and raffle. Students can buy homemade treats and drinks - most for 25-50 cents! Additionally, students can take a chance on one of the raffle prizes by purchasing raffle tickets. For questions, or to volunteer, please speak with your child's teacher.
Art Fair and Ice Cream Social
Each May we celebrate your child's achievement in their Art Class by holding an Art Fair. Your child works hard to create their masterpiece in the hopes of obtaining the 1st Place Blue Ribbon. Join us for a walk down the halls and relish in the creativity that your child has produced. To celebrate all their hard work, have an ice cream sundae!
Jog-a-thon
Each spring, the students of Saint Michael School participate in an outdoor jog-a-thon to raise money for the school. Younger students jog within the school yard, while older kids jog around the school. Prizes and medals are awarded to the top 3 students in each class based on number of laps, in addition to awards for money raised and participation awards for all students. The awards will be given a few weeks after the event.
Saint Michael School “Pull – Tab” Collection to Benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children
Did you know that Saint Michael School and Parish collects the “pull-tabs” from soda and other beverage cans to support Shriners Hospitals for Children?
The pull-tab program at Aleppo Shrine in Wilmington, MA supports the services provided by Shriners Hospitals. All proceeds from recycling the pull-tabs go to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Transportation Fund. The Children’s Transportation Fund provides transportation to Shriners Hospitals by bus, train, and air for needy children and their parents, free of charge. The Fund also provides for MedFlight transportation when a child’s life hangs in the balance.
How can parents/students/parishioners help? Collect the pull-tabs from your beverage cans (don’t forget to ask friends and family to collect too!) and send them in with your student or drop them off at the school office! PTO board members will ensure they are delivered to the Shriners program.
In September, we made a donation of six 8-gallon bags!!!
